Once again, children and young people between the ages of 7 and 18 in Bavaria are invited to go on a photo safari and discover nature with a camera or smartphone for the Nature in Focus photo competition. Until September 30, 2023, you can submit your pictures in 2 categories - great prices are waiting for you!
For the choice of motifs, there are two themed categories this year: Category A "Flowers, Blossoms, Pollinators" is dedicated - in reference to the "Flower Power Festival Munich 2023" - to Bavaria's nature in full bloom and those who ensure this diversity: the pollinators from bees to butterflies. Category B takes "Forests, Meadows, Wilderness" and the search for different habitats and their inhabitants into focus.
A jury of experts then selects the best images from among the entries. The focus is not on technical perfection and optimal equipment, but on exciting motifs and image compositions - and above all on creativity. Prizes will be awarded in three age groups - 7 to 10 years, 11 to 14 years and 15 to 18 years. The awards ceremony is expected to take place in early 2024.
Want to get inspired in advance? Last year's award-winning pictures will be on display in a special exhibition at the Museum Mensch und Natur until June 11. They will then tour throughout Bavaria.
