With funding in the amount of 800.000 EUR the BayWa Stiftung supports the realisation of the BIOTOPIA LAB.
"Not a day without the museum": Even prior to its opening, BIOTOPIA seeks to create excitement for areas like biology, environment and food - by means of a BIOTOPIA Lab. This is supported by the BayWa Stiftung, which donated 800.000 Euro to the Förderkreis BIOTOPIA e.V. to contribute to the development, setup and operation of the LAB.
BIOTOPIA LAB - WHAT'S THAT?
The LAB is a temporary exhibition and event space in the Munich Botanical Garden. An area comprising 350 square meters in the Botanical Insitute will be adapted to house programmes, public events and small exhibitions next to a kitchen and lab space from 2020 on. A special focus will lie on the topics food and environment.
SUPPORTED BY: BAYWA FOUNDATION
These are key aspects that BIOTOPIA shares with the BayWa Foundation. The Foundation's aim is to promote sustainable educational projects in the fields of healthy food and renewable energy. By experimenting playfully, children can explore the world of carot, tomatoe & co. in the LAB. BIOTOPIA and the Förderkreis BIOTOPIA are delighted at the wonderful support!
Until construction of BIOTOPIA starts, the current Museum of Man and Nature remains open. During the transition phase up to the reopening as BIOTOPIA, the LAB will be a central venue for the public for all things life sciences.
