Long Night of Munich Museums 2026

18 September 2026

On Saturday, October 17, starting at 6:00 p.m., the Naturkundemuseum Bayern and the Dawn Chorus citizen science project will be part of the diverse program at the Museum Mensch und Natur in Nymphenburg Palace. Come check it out!

During the 2026 Long Night of Munich Museums, the Museum Mensch und Natur will offer a diverse program featuring live music, exhibitions, hands-on activities, and exciting insights into the natural sciences and sustainability:

Take a look inside the Naturkundemuseum Bayern's Future Lab with its current exhibition, “Nature Shapes—Structures and Ecosystems.”

The citizen science project Dawn Chorus will have a booth where you can test your knowledge of the ten most common songbird species in our region with a quiz.

“Don’t throw anything away—who knows what you might need it for someday!” That’s what Toni Bartl learned from his uncle Erwin, who hoarded all sorts of junk in his workshop. With creativity and craftsmanship, the inventor and musician turns these items into unique instruments. With rousing music and plenty of humor, Toni Bartl will be performing at the Recycle Bar until around 10:30 p.m.

In conjunction with the special exhibition “Now It’s All About Circles—Cycles Instead of Waste,” a diverse program focusing on the circular economy, sustainability, and upcycling awaits you. Highlights include creative upcycling ideas and an information booth run by the Munich Waste Management Authority (AWM).

Also featured in the special exhibition “Molassic Park—An Expedition to Bavaria’s Early Humans”
